Response to RBWM Finances

The Royal Borough finances are not as the inexperienced Liberal Democrat administration describes - they should be embarrassed.

These in-year budget pressures are typical, and any party wanting to lead has to expect and manage this situation. The Lib Dems’ problem is that they have stood on a disingenuous manifesto, making promises they knew they could never deliver.

They are now seeking political cover to maintain Conservative spending plans.

Governing is tough. Budgets are tight. If the Lib Dems don’t like that, they should stay in the comfort of opposition.

We make no apologies for keeping council tax as low as possible during a cost of living and energy crisis.
