Jack Rankin had an opportunity to discuss the pressures facing our pharmacies when he met with Olivier Picard, who runs the Newdays Pharmacy on Eton High Street.
He was told about the challenges facing pharmacies such as rising drug costs as well as issues patients have in sourcing certain medications.
Jack was also keen to find out how Pharmacy First is working. This is a new government initiative that aims to reduce the stress on GP appointments by allowing Pharmacies to offer primary treatment for a variety of common and easy-to-treat conditions.
Jack said: "With the right support, our local pharmacies have the potential to improve patient choice, outcomes and access, as well as free up much-needed spots for residents in local GPs."
